To get a good seal, the plug's perimeter groove must be filled with sealant just before insertion. Suitable sealants include bathroom sealant, Copydex and silicon glue.

Not suitable for the HP M252 family, HP M254 family, HP M102 family or any cartridge where a patch is specified in the instructions rather than a plug.
